Bio
Jesse Blanchard is a professional amateur who rejects artistic mastery and discipline. They live on the unceded ancestral territory of the xʷməθkʷəy̓əm, Sḵwx̱wú7mesh and səlilwətaɬ peoples. Jesse is a graduate of the Sfu school for Contenporary arts and Langara collage studio arts. Currently, Blanchard is creating large watercolor paintings inspired by surrealism, body horror and gay sex. These works seek to invert the power of technology and surveillance that distort and criminalize queer and trans bodies. Additionally, the paintings contain bright colors and lots of butts.
