Digital Stories Canada is dedicated to the art of community digital storytelling with a Canadian connection. Many of these stories were created during workshops sponsored by Vancouver's grunt gallery in collaboration with Lorna Boschman and Sebnem Ozpeta.

Digital Storytelling Workshops with grunt gallery

We are hosting 3 separate free workshops in 2024, with up to 4 participants in each workshop cohort. Dates to be determined.

Since 2017, digital storytelling workshop co-facilitators Lorna Boschman and Sebnem Ozpeta have worked with creative community members to create short digital stories, usually in a video format.

Cohort 1: Beginning in July, join us for a series of 4-1 hour on-line workshops over a month
Cohort 2: Beginning in August, join us for a series of 4-1 hour on-line workshops over a month
Cohort 3:  In-person workshop on a Sunday afternoon at Vancouver’s grunt gallery in October 2024.

There is no cost to attend but please keep in mind that you are required to work on your story outside of workshop time. During this amazing experience, you will meet artists from many disciplines and territories, and help to improve one another’s skills by giving and receiving feedback on your stories’ process. Bring along ideas for a story along with your photos, audio or short videos.

No previous video-making skills are required. Storytellers of all kinds create their own images outside the workshop and bring works that are in-progress back to the group. Either we (the facilitators) can edit your piece (up to 2 minutes long) or you can edit your own video with your own computer and software.

Let’s create together. Join us to tell your story. Email [email protected] to have a place on the waiting list. Workshops are free but space is limited.
