Artist Statement
My artistic vision arises from moments of reflection found within the mirrored windows. These reflective surfaces turn everyday scenes into surprising compositions, where reality bends into new shapes and stories. When the shutter clicks, time seems to pause, and the windows become partners in the creative act, presenting a fragmented stage that captures fleeting magic. In these reflections, movement and stillness merge, highlighted by the shifting interplay of light and structure, which act as both guardians and enigmas within the image.
My choice of subject matter is intuitive, shaped by a sensitivity to colour and an awareness of how time changes perception. What I observe is constantly evolving, influenced by an instinctive reaction to changing moments and tones. This intuition guides me toward scenes that resonate subtly, often beneath conscious thought, providing the inspiration at the core of my work.
From a technical standpoint, I approach each photoshoot with careful preparation, imagining how different filters will be used during post-production to elevate the final image. This balance of planning and spontaneity ensures that each piece stands as a singular work, connecting the immediacy of the captured moment with the intentional act of artistic transformation. Through this process, my work becomes a meditation on perception, encouraging viewers to engage with the relationship between reality and reflection.
