The Vancouver Sun wrote a piece about the Mount Pleasant Community Art Screen and how our Digital Storytelling Workshop fits into the larger project. The workshops are presented in collaboration with the grunt gallery, with funding from the Vancouver Foundation.

ARTIST-FACILITATORS: Lorna Boschman & Sebnem Ozpeta
WHERE: In 2020, join us for online workshops

Lorna Boschman is a digital media artist who collaborates in community. Her earliest documentary Scars (1986), collaborations with Vancouver artists Kiss & Tell (1992-2002), the self-advocate community (2000, 2006), and digital storytelling mentorship supporting a lesbian living with metastatic cancer in just being (2015) are among her productions. Lorna’s provocative approach to media creation helps people share their story within a larger community context.

Lorna co-designed a digital storytelling workshop for the national research study Cancer’s Margins. She was the Vancouver Mayor’s 2016 Arts Award honoree for Film & New Media and chose Sebnem Ozpeta as the 2016 Emerging Artist for Film & New Media.

Sebnem Ozpeta is a Vancouver-based visual artist, video editor, and videographer. She studied graphic design in Turkey, where she was born and raised.
